These days more & more artists experiment with different reused and recycled materials. Even if you work with metal or stone, you can always look into ways of using reclaimed or discarded materials (e. g. stone salvaged from old buildings, monuments, or construction sites, metal scraps).
Although such choice itself is a big step towards more sustainable production, it is still important not to forget about the principles from our guidelines.

Try to keep in mind the desired longevity of an artwork right from the start and whether it could be recycled

Consider whether it will be easy to maintain and transport your artwork (if needed)

Use renewable energy to power tools, if they are needed

Buy from local manufacturers, if new materials are required for your artwork
